Hi folks,

The business have raised a requirement where they would like BW process chains to be monitored. Our current set up is that if a BW process chain fails then an windows event log will be generated - which is read by our Alerting system and throws out an email.

In order for that to work we have <CRITICAL> set up in the comments field and when the job fails we have a trigger that reads the comment and kicks start the whole process.

Now we have several BW process chains in redwood, but the the business have asked us to fix a particular process chain if it fails. So initial we set the comment to contain <CRITICAL> so the job would alert if it fails, which it did but things got more complicated when we found out that the actual CCMS job failed at 12:51 but the alert was generated at 05:00. The alert generated at 05:00 because that is when the parent job had actually gone into an errored status (it had to wait for all the CCMS jobs to complete before proceding onto the next step).

We cant set the RSI_CCMS_JOB to have critical because it would alert for every time a CCMS job failed for every BW process chain.

Is there anyway round this or any solution?

The idea is to activate the SAP Solution manager (work center) to automatic create the job in the external scheduler.

I am using the UC4 Automation Engine as external scheduler, and using the interface SMSE (Solution Manager Scheduling Enabler) in UC4.

The connection was created in UC4 with the RFC settings from SAP.

In SAP the RFC are created as a "TCP-IP connection"

Please reply If somebody has knowledge about this topic or even some material/link concerning this topic.

I am having an issue, getting batch jobs in redwood, to roll on holidays.

For example, these are payroll jobs., they run, weekly Monday, but if Monday is a holiday, they are to roll forward to to run Tuesday.

I cannot get this to work?

We have a request from Security to use Redwood to run jobs for PS1, in the background, then intercept the output, combine it and send it to

a network share.

This would be 1 Chain with 10 steps with each step having its own spool output.  At the end of the Chain , Redwood would intercept all of this

output , zip it together, then send this zip file to a network share to be used by Security and Auditors.

We're just testing through the difference between these actions for XBP Job Control Rules for SAP CPS

Key 2 we're interested in are:

1. Schedule
2. Schedule Intercepted

The CPS GUI Admin guide definitions are:

However to me they aren't suitably descriptive.

What we've found with "Schedule" if that you can continue to say that ..... "once CPS releases the Job the Scheduled version in SAP become active" - so it's actually like it puts the job in SAP in a suspended animation status and then activates it when it runs it.

But then what difference does Schedule Intercepted give you? The Schedule option clearly does intercept jobs - is this to do with activating Interception via the SAP system instead via CRITERIA_MANAGER? If so what are the pros and cons of each option?

Finally an appended point - CPS system job SAP_SynchronizeInterceptionCriteria does not seem to be required if you just setup some rules with the "Schedule" status - I haven't found that it's required at all in this scenario. Is it perhaps only required if you start using both CPS XBP Job Control Rules and CRITERIA_MANAGER in parallel?

A job which would complete successfully in SAP via the SM36 scheduler completes with an 'Error' in Redwood CPS because there are errors within the spool and it ends with a return code 4.

We don't want this to error in Redwood CPS, so we have set the return code mapping to Completed with entries of 0 and 4.

I.e. whether or not there is an error in the spool, the job will complete successfully in Redwood CPS.

However, we want to be alerted if there are errors in the spool.

How do we do this? The manual says "A job can raise one or more events when the job gets a specific job status or return code" - where is this set? I can see on the 'Event' tab of a job definition you can raise an Event when the job enters a specific status, but I only want to raise an event (or carry out a step / send an email etc) if I get a return code 4 (none of the job statuses are relevant) - how can I do this?

on a system which has ETPRJSCHEDULER  7.31.9.0 installed.

SUM won't let me upgrade to CPS 8.0:

Rejected due to following reason(s):

• 001 : Component sap.com/ETPRJSCHEDULER cannot be updated to higher release

• 005 : Component sap.com/ETPRJSCHEDULER is part of the following usage type: JOB-SCHED;

According to some OSS notes and the installation guide one should use JSPM but this is not supported anymore in NW 731.

How do I upgrade to CPS 8.0 now?

The challenge is job name of the transport job varies each time you schedule. For instance

TMS_0000000022TMS_TP_IMPORT

TMS_0000000023TMS_TP_IMPORT

I would like to schedule transports regularly every 30 minutes instead of manually importing into QAS. The job should checks whether any transports are released from DEV and import them. I hope I am clear in my query.

I have a ramped up Redwood installation deployed into an existing XI system.  I've hit a problem with several job chains I have submitted where the above error message appears when I ask Redwood to "Explain Job Status" on a chain that is sitting queued and will not move on to running.  I have checked the queue that the job was submitted to run in and the Process Server that is serving the queue and both report an execution size of 2 for the relevant queue.   I have tried increasing this, but still to no effect.

Has anyone else encountered this issue as I can find no reference to this message or symptom in SAP notes, SDN or Google?  (In fact the paucity of documentation and notes is worrying for a scheduler I am being asked to deploy in a productive environment.  Am I missing out on some other source of info regarding Redwood and SAP?)

I am aware how to create a filter, then the report and use it with the system job to get the HTML format file through email.

What I am struggling to get is Schedule information (Time Window and Submit Frame) and Prog Name and Variant Information in the report (through a filter)

Is there a query to clear raised events in Redwood ?

Our CPS did not restart properly this WE and all the Event File Definition wich was started are now going in a pending status. The problem is that the raised ones are not visible in the monitoring (I cannot clear them !) and auto-submit jobs are not running anymore as new event file are pending !

How can I clear them (as they'aren't in the monitoring) ?

I solved my problem by creating a new file Event Definition for one of the job and it ran but I cannot do that (itu2019s not a solution) for all the jobs which were running correctly before.

We restart Redwood but event are still going in a pending status, I donu2019t see any operator message.

So, this problem is not similar with the one I opened a few days ago.

If someone can help, Iu2019ll really appreciate it.

I have imported the CHECKDB job from one of our SAP systems and I would like to run this same job across multiple SAP systems in the landscape. However, when I try to run the same job in another system, I get an error with the message:

Any idea how I can run this job in multiple SAP systems?
