Dear all,
Is it possible to schedule a 40 Work Processes job to run on 2 SAP instances (DIA) only, while the SAP system has 6 SAP instances (CI + 5DIA).
We are using Control M + CPS Redwood.
I suppose some RZ12/Logon groups or SM61 would be involved? Or any concrete trick in CPS/ Control M?

Since we upgrade yesterday from CPS M26 to M28, parameters are not passed within step of the job chains.
I have an output parameter in the first step which a passed to a ksh job in the second step as input parameter, and seems also that the input parameters of the second step are not taken in account by the job.
Could someone help, please ?
I am trying to get reports over time that contain job and job chain information such as job chain, job description, elapsed time, job status, etc to allow for trend reporting against the job schedules. Thanks for any help. I would have thought that there was some basic reporting that could execute and be saved for reporting and reference.

I have duplicated "SAP_AbapRun" Job definition to a new one, and when submiting this new Job Definition SAP_Language_STEP (Parameter LANGUAGE) is ignored.
Our Build is: M33.104-74500.
After submit Job in CPS, IN parameter is 'PT' - Portugal but when I go to SM37 is in EN (English) and spool list is in English.
Anyone with the same problem?
Note: With SAP_AbapRun SAP_Language_STEP (Parameter LANGUAGE) works as expected.

This is about an issue faced in SAP CPS.
After upgradation to CPS version M33.104-74500 from M33.74-62951 it has been noticed that the automated report that were configured in CPS to be sent as HTML attachment through an SMTP email is failing. In the job chain the report generation step is getting cpmpleted succesfully but the mail sent step is failing.
Following CPS programs and parameters are used:
System_ReportRun
Report/Expression: GLOBAL.Weekly_Backup_Job_POK_Status (name of CPS report/filter)
Report format /Expression: HTMLText
System_Mail_Send
To/Expression: xxxxxx@xxxxxx.com
Subject/Expression: Weekly POK Backup Status
Text/Expression: Weekly POK Backup Status
Relative Job/Expression: Generate Report, Job 1
Job file/Expression: report.html

Has anyone got more than 1 server node on NetWeaver AS Java running SAP CPS on top?

I am setting up cps 8.0 M33 on my solution Manager I am going to connect to 5 satellite systems.
Do i have to install any client software on any of these satellite systems?
Do i just have to deploy the sca file on the central server(solution manager) and then do the configuration.
how are platform agents created?
can i update the client software from the Scheduler?

I would like to schedule transports regularly every 30 minutes instead of manually importing into QAS. The job should checks whether any transports are released from DEV and import them. I hope I am clear in my query.

I am trying to send an email with an attached file utilizing utl_smtp. I want to be able to send the UNC file location (
desktop\share\filetoAttach) so that the procedure picks up the file from the shared location; attaches to the email and sends.
My current procedure that works (minus the attachment) that calls utl_smtp is as follows:

We need the Request Restart ability when scheduling a single reoccurring job in Redwood. Most of our jobs are scheduled in CHAINs which offers the Final Status Handler on Step level, and the schedule is "paused" when a job in the CHAIN has failed ( the next instance does not populate until the OP MSG has been Replied to) , and once the OPERATOR message is replied to, the CHAIN can resume running again ( desired ) . But we need this same ability when scheduling a single job not in a CHAIN. In our testing, we set up a job with Request Restart chosen on the Error , Killed and Unknown selections on the Restart Behavior Tab. But we found when a job is scheduled say once a day at 8AM, and when it fails, an OPERATOR msg appears allowing a Restart choice ( desired), but the next day's schedule also populates ( undesired) and we do NOT want the schedule to continue on yet because we need a chance to fix the error before the next insance runs for business reasons. So how can you get the schedule of a single reoccurring job with Restart ability in Redwood to pause when it has failed...?
I cannot find in the manual, what the 'is'
means, when you check it within time windows.
I notice when we look through our list of the, some are checked, some are not.

how can I get the jobname of a job which raised an event with REL?
The jobId I can get with =waitEvents.<Event>.raiserJobId.
At the moment I extract the jobname from "waitEvents.<Event>.raiserComment" with "substring" and "indexOf", but I hope there could be a better possibility.

I have tried in vain to see if there is a capacity limit to how many jobs a single Redwood server can handle in a given 24 hour period Seeing that Redwood has a server/client relationship, I would imagine the number could be high but I was wondering if there is any documentation that states so. We here typically blast out 17, 000 jobs a day on a single server instance but we are starting to run into performance nuances so the first question asked to me was can Redwood handle this many jobs. I'm curious, how much work do other shops produce? Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Let´s say that for some reason the CPS system is down and I want to prevent jobs from being submitted upon start. Is there any way to start CPS in a mode that hold the queues, which normally starts along with CPS?
