Connecting to SAP using MSHOST string - doesn't work

Hi all,

CPS version M33.69-61130.

I am trying to connect to a SAP system using the connection string:

 

MSHOST=HOSTNAME R3NAME=SID GROUP=REDWOOD

The hostname corresponds to the hostname of a high availabilty server running on Windows.

I have manually added the following entries into the services file

sapmsSID 3600/tcp

sapdpSID 3200/tcp

sapgwSID 3300/tcp

I am not able to telnet to hostname at port 3600

I am able to open the sapgui using the command

sapgui hostname 00

So the MSHOST string is not connecting.

 

the error i am getting:

Mass Activity - Error in SAP CPS

Hi guys,

 

I am trying to run a mass activity from SAP CPS in the ISU system. I imported the mass activity - 0004, the posting and the document date had to be changed dynamically, so I created a parameter set as shown here.

Created a job to copy parameters(these two parameters only). Ran the job, the parameters are created and copied to target id FPMA5

Created a copy of the job SAP_MassActivityTemplateRun -> Used the Target ID as shown and date as today.

So, I am consuming the Identification FPMA5 from the previous job run here. Tried to run it, getting the below error in the SAP CPS system.

I now added other parameters into the parameter set, maintained them in the COPY_Parameter job. Even then I get the same error!


I believe my problem is this - I am able to copy the parameters, but passing them to the Mass activity is somehow failing(I am using the MASS_ACTIVITY_TARGET_ID field output from Copy parameters to MASS_ACTIVITY_ID, which I believe is wrong. But I want to use the copy parameter job's output in the mass activity template run). Please let me know.

Hi Friends,

 

Hope everyone is doing great.

 

I need a help.

 

If you guys have worked on having knowledge on Redwood Job Scheduler, your inputs on below points on Redwood Job Scheduler will of great help to me.

 

Hardware Requirement - Separate / add-on required for the same if any system selected, is it capable of handling.

Application Requirement - What are the systems which are to be connected.

Pros of havening centralized scheduler.

Cons of having the same ( Like once scheduled, rescheduling or changing priority takes time... So On)

 

Possibility of using Solution Manager ( But SOLMAN capability need to be enhanced)

Only jobs without parent

Hello,

 

I want to select all jobs without a parent job. How I have to change this statement to get only the top level jobs?

 

select jd.UniqueId,jd.Name, count(*) num from Job j, JobDefinition jd where jd.UniqueId = j.JobDefinition group by jd.UniqueId, jd.Name

Get event raiser job name in alerting email

Hi There,

 

I am trying to setup an alert for long running job in SAP CPS. The scenario has been setup such that an event is triggered based on the time duration mentioned in Runtime Limits Tab of a job. This event is set as a wait event for a job chain which consists of one step System_Mail_Send.

 

I am trying to retrieve the raiser job name as subject for the alert email to be send but didn't have any luck yet, the closer I could come was using expression- waitEvents.<name>.raiserComment which always return with the statement "Maximum Runtime Limit breached. Raising an event for job <id>". I did not find any mechanism to override this default comment.

 

I do not have license for alerting mechanism and hence need to do this workaround. Do let me know if there a way in order to get the raiser job name in the alert email.

 

Appreciate any help provided. Thanks in advance.

Holding Queue for 3 days how will daily jobs react.

Holding a Queue for 3 days how will daily jobs react? Example job run nightly at 8PM, queue is held day 1 at 4pm and released at 3PM on day 3. Will job wait on day 3 until 8pm to run or will it run when queue is released and 8PM?

Schedule JOB to run on only SAP 2 Instances out of 6 instances

Dear all,

 

Is it possible to schedule a 40 Work Processes job to run on 2 SAP instances (DIA) only, while the SAP system has 6 SAP instances (CI + 5DIA).

 

We are using Control M  + CPS Redwood.

I suppose some RZ12/Logon groups or SM61 would be involved?  Or any concrete trick in CPS/ Control M?

How to monitor a Process Server or a Queue?

Hi

 

We are using Redwood CPS as our Enterprise Scheduler.

 

In the recent months, the below issue has happened twice.

 

The error message I could read in the Redwood Process Server Log is below

 

JCS-116011: Permanent communication failure: Unknown Host : HOST.domain.com

 

I am not sure what breaks the connection.

 

Two Questions that run in my mind:

1. Does this issue directly relate to any known issue anyone aware of?

2. How do I setup monitoring on the Process Server or a Queue so that when they go down I get an e-mail or something at least?

 

Can someone guide me please?

Could not send alert to - Alerting Module

Hello,

 

We are currently using the alerting module to monitor our jobs.

 

We have a basic setup

 

For some reason we always get an OP message "Could not send alert to [emailTXTMSG@company.com]. All this address contains is a distribution list of cell numbers with wireless provider extensions on the end so you can send out through email and receive as a txt message. We get the alert but what ends up happening is the email gateway continues to resend the alert unless we go in a delete the job that failed. The other alert sends out correctly.

 

Any ideas?

Basis batch jobs

Hi, i am new on this.

I need to get a list of the Basis jobs running in our instances (PBI, PR3, DBI, DRP, etc).

I know how to get that list.

Also, i need to look for the meaning of those Basis jobs, i need to know what each one of them do.

Where can i find that information?

For example, this is one of the jobs: RSAL_BATCH_TOOL_STARTUPDISP, i need to know what this job doese on the system.

How could i find the meaning of each job? i mean, what it is working for on the system.

Copy Job Transaction Types to Z Namespace

Hello,

 

I am starting to prototype JSM in Solution Manager (eventually we will integrate with CPS). I am running SOLMAN_SETUP and wanted to ask if I should copy the SAP standard Job related transaction types (SLFJ – Job Request, SDCD – Job Change Document) to our namespace. Unlike setting up ChaRM where they provide you with an explicit step to copy transaction types to the customer namespace, JSM in SOLMAN_SETUP does not include this step. Any advice is appreciated.

Of course there are many advantages with Redwood CPS. But, I would like to know what are the genuine disadvantages of the same.

Single Job Definition for multiple variants in a job

When we are importing a job to Redwood which has multple steps in SAP, Its getting created as a job chain with steps and each step is triggering a new job in SAP. So if a job has 3 variants, 3 jobs with the same name are created in from Redwood to SAP.  Is there any way we can create a single job for all these three variants instead of Job Chain..

License problem after a cronacle DB restore

Hi,

 

I have a problem to import some script, procedure or package on cronacle, because of a invalid licence.

In fact since the cronacle database has been restored, I have these messages :

 

- In our importation script log:

 

JCS-00328: your license is not valid. Type SHOW LICENSE to examine license

 

- On the redwood shell :

 

This is a regular license.

Current database date: 08-APR-2009 14:23:41.

Activation date: 23-MAY-2008 15:47:40.

The license does not expire.

 

Have you ideas to resolve this problem?

Hello Gurus,

Please help me solving my issue. I am executing sqlplus "/' as sidadm but i am having the bellow error.

 

:bm1302 21> sqlplus "/"

/usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libsqlplus.so'.

Killed

:bm1302 22> exit

:bm1302 23> logout

 

Action taken:

Changed the permission of 'libsqlplus.so' to 775.

I have already changed the permission of lib and run folder but when i did that i was prompted with a different error so i reverted it back to original.

Redwood recommend 1 Java server node for running CPS on

However you lose the extra mitigation for failure of a node that you'd get by having 2 (or more)

 

Has anyone got more than 1 server node on NetWeaver AS Java running SAP CPS on top?

 

NB Looking at recent documents I wonder if recommendations have changed to support multi-node installations more?

Running SQL jobs fromRedwood Cronacle version integrated into SAP Netweaver

Hi,

 

We are currently running Redwood SAP CPS version 6.0.2.7 which runs outside of the SAP Environment. We have a process server installed onto a clustered SIEBEL Database server and run a series of SQL jobs through that process server.

 

If we were to upgrade our Redwood version to a later one that was incorporated onto the SAP Netweaver platform would this functionality still be possible?

Uploading documents to sharepoint using RedWood \ CPS

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how to (automatic) upload documents to a Sharepoint document folder using Redwood or CPS.

 

As far as I can see there are 4 options to upload document's:

  1. HTTP (via the upload page) => in my case not able to automate...
  2. WebDAV  => tried that, but only possible from a Windows system + problem to store userid+Passw, so no automatic logon.
  3. Web Services No experience, possible from RedWood?
  4. The object model No experience, could be an option from RedWood directly or EFT?

 

Direct FTP seems not an option.

We use Sharepoint 2010.

SMS Alerts on mobile phones through CPS

Can anyone guide if it is possible to configure sending SMS alert from CPS in the event of a SAP batch job failure?

(Just like triggering SMTP email)

 

If yes, what is the process, configuration and hardware requirement, if any?

Redwood Connection Issues

Hi All,

 

We currently suffer from a rogue issue in Redwood/SAP which occurs randomly. This error only appears on our APO and BWP environments. When a job is submitted from Redwood to SAP it errors straight away with the following error:

 

Log output from job “RSI_START_BW_CHAIN”:

###############################################

RSI-00001: unable to connect to localhost port 6590; error -1

OS-0: The operation completed successfully.

Error when connecting to host null on port 6590

###############################################

 

The only way to get the submit is to restart the Redwood services on our APO/BWP cluster. Which reactivates the connection with SAP ( both services are on the same node) and when the job is resubmitted it submits fine!

 

Any help would be much appreciated!
