reading spool numbers from spool_ids.txt into JobDef parameters

Hello,

 

if a SAP report has more than one spool and we need to download not only the last one, we can use SAP_CcmsJobGetSpoollist. But we have to feed this JobDef with the Spool-ID we want to download, otherwise we only get the last spool.

 

If a SAP report produces more than one spool the IDs are written in the standard file spool_ids.txt. Does anyone wrote a JobDef maybe in Redwood Skript to read the spool IDs out of this list in JobDefinitionParameters to use them easily in following steps?

Issue with Retention Period

Hi

 

We have Monthly Jobs with Retention Period as 6 Months.

However, once the instance of the job gets complete, I am not able to see it

 

Can anyone assist me on this and walk through different Keep Parameters that Redwood CPS has to offer?

 

Current version - M33.85-65736

Mass change the steps user in released SM37 jobs

Hello,

 

I wonder if there is a possibility to mass change the user entered in the steps overview of a released job.

 

I know that in the Table TBTCS the Jobowner is saved and in TBTCP I can view the user entered in the steps overview but only for jobs which have already been executed, does anyone of you know which table keeps the steps user for a released job?

Uploading documents to sharepoint using RedWood \ CPS

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how to (automatic) upload documents to a Sharepoint document folder using Redwood or CPS.

 

As far as I can see there are 4 options to upload document's:

  1. HTTP (via the upload page) => in my case not able to automate...
  2. WebDAV  => tried that, but only possible from a Windows system + problem to store userid+Passw, so no automatic logon.
  3. Web Services No experience, possible from RedWood?
  4. The object model No experience, could be an option from RedWood directly or EFT?

 

Direct FTP seems not an option.

We use Sharepoint 2010.

How to get the external scheduler SMSE certified ??

Hi Experts,

 

We have an external scheduler system (like SAP CPS by Redwood) which needs to be integrated with SAP Solution Manager.

I believe there is some certification process (Solution Manager Scheduling Enabler certification) which certifies an external scheduler to be Solution Manager compliant.

Can anyone point me to the exact process/documentation to be followed to get an External Scheduler SMSE-certified?

Any pointers in this direction would also be appreciated.

ZBADI_JSM_CHARM_INTERF BAdI Errors

I am following the SOLMAN_SETUP for Job Scheduling Management. In step 4 you perform Additional ITSM/ChaRM Configuration. One of the steps provides instructions to create a BAdI - ZBADI_JSM_CHARM_INTERF. Unfortunately I am receiving an error message when I check the implementation.

 

Conflict between adjustment FILTER_PROCESS_TYPE = ZMAD and FILTER_PROCESS_TYPE = ZMAD. (ZBADI_JSM_CHARM_INTERF-ZBADI_JSM_CHARM...

 

Has anyone successfully set this up?

Impact and Action Required for NumberOfRows & RowsDelta exceeding standard monitoring value in Table JCS_JOBPARAMETER0 (object JobParameter)

Hello,

 

In the Monitor Tree of CPS Production system, there is a Red warning for System->Database->Tables->Sizes->Scheduler->JobParameter.

In the Table JCS_JOBPARAMETER0 (object JobParameter), the standard Monitor Conditions set are as follows :

If NumberOfRows > 5000000,  Severity=50

If RowsDelta > 100000, Severity=75.

 

For my CPS system, the actual values are as follows:

NumberOfRows=2516373

RowsDelta=144672

 

Hence, I'm getting an alert of severity 75.

 

I checked the table at database level:

SQL> select count(*) from sapsr3db.JCS_JOBPARAMETER0;

  COUNT(*)
----------
   2634029

 

There is sufficient space in all SAPDATA directories.

 

Hence, my query is what action needs to be taken for the Severity 75 alert for Number of rows in a table exceeding the set value, and what is the impact on the CPS system if the rows of JCS_JobParameter0 table increases beyond the set values.

Big Issue with BW Jobs

Hi,

 

since updating our SAP CPS on Build M33.104-74500, we have big issues with BW Jobs. We`re using SAP CPS jobs to start process chains on our SAP BW. Now, we have following issue.

 

We starts in SAP CPS a Master Chain with different steps and each step starts process chains in SAP BW. This worked for 2 years, now. After the update on M33.104-74500, we can notice, that some jobs hangs on status assigned,in SAP CPS, although the process in BW is running or finished. We haven`t a workaround and have to change the status manually.

 

Any ideas?

 

It seems, like the SAP CPS or SAP BW looses some informations during there communication.

(Just like triggering SMTP email)

 

If yes, what is the process, configuration and hardware requirement, if any?

I need to create a number of dashboards for management to use for a High level view of critical jobs in the different applications.  The documentation is

not very clear.  I know how to create a dashboard but how do I populate it with information for specific jobs?

Connecting to SAP using MSHOST string - doesn't work

Hi all,

CPS version M33.69-61130.

I am trying to connect to a SAP system using the connection string:

 

MSHOST=HOSTNAME R3NAME=SID GROUP=REDWOOD

The hostname corresponds to the hostname of a high availabilty server running on Windows.

I have manually added the following entries into the services file

sapmsSID 3600/tcp

sapdpSID 3200/tcp

sapgwSID 3300/tcp

I am not able to telnet to hostname at port 3600

I am able to open the sapgui using the command

sapgui hostname 00

So the MSHOST string is not connecting.

 

the error i am getting:

SAP CPS - 1 Java server node

Redwood recommend 1 Java server node for running CPS on

However you lose the extra mitigation for failure of a node that you'd get by having 2 (or more)

 

Has anyone got more than 1 server node on NetWeaver AS Java running SAP CPS on top?

 

NB Looking at recent documents I wonder if recommendations have changed to support multi-node installations more?

REL / RedwoodScript - date/time formatting

Currently I am trying to test writing date/time in set formats using REL, of if required in full Redwood Script calling req libraries.

 

Has anyone done this?

Target is to:

 

  • output date as yyyymmdd
  • time as hhmmss

 

Using script shell window to test using std calls - e.g.

 

{

     jcsOut.println("TEST");

}

 

but no luck yet with assumed format for outputting time - e.g.

{

     jcsOut.println(Time.expressionNow('truncate day'));

}

 

Any ideas out there appreciated for discussion - will always try and post full results for reference.

Scheduling jobs with complex dependencies through SAP CPS

Hi All,

 

We've a requirement as follows,

 

There are two jobs

Job A : Runs at 5 PM

Job B: Runs at 8 PM

 

Dependency:

 

If Job A completes before 8 PM, then Job B should get triggered at 8 PM

 

OR

 

If Job A is over running even after 8 PM, then Job B should wait till Job A completes and then get triggered.

 

An elaborate procedural reply would be much appreciated.

CPS Report with Schedule and Job Parameter Information

Is it possible to create a report in CPS that will provide the below information?

 

Job Number

Job Name

Description

Program Name

Variant name

Time Window

Submit Frame

Job Chain Name

 

I am aware how to create a filter, then the report and use it with the system job to get the HTML format file through email.

What I am struggling to get is Schedule information (Time Window and Submit Frame) and Prog Name and Variant Information in the report (through a filter)

Questions ON folder changes in SAP

Hi. I created a number of submit frames, and in doing so, on each of them, I put the    PARTITION, NAME, and APPLICATION

We decided to rename a few of our folders

I am trying to understand how this could happen, but,  When I changed the folder names on the job definitions, it had no impact at all

I also changed the FOLDER names on some of the SUBMIT FRAMES

One submit frame I changed the folder for was named   EVERY_15_Minutes

 

I have approximately 40 jobs that use this submit frame.

For some reason TWO jobs only, that use this, started to run twice, at two different intervals, and started at the time, I made the folder change?

why would that be?
